King Mez: “Queen” (Director’s Cut Video)

Reaching back to King Mez’s 2012 My Everlasting Zeal album, director David Hambridge lets free these director’s cut visuals for the Commissioner Gordon-produced that seem to have been sitting in the stash since last year. Dope track and video to match. Mez’s latest effort Long Live The King is out now.

The Diary: J Dilla- “Give Em What They Want”

On May 6th the venerable producer on the mic is coming with another posthumous album called The Diary, which will drop on vinyl. The five-track project will include this single and the instrumental, and all tracks were produced in 2002 by Dilla and Supa Dave West. Jay Dee was never the most lyrical emcee in the game, but his production skills led him to always have an exceptionally dope flow when he stepped before the mic.

Turning Point: eMC- “Charly Murphie” (Prod. By 14KT)

I have a confession. eMC’s The Show album is one of my most played hip hop albums from this side of 2000. eMC is Masta, Wordsworth, Punchline and Stricklin and they’ll be back with a new EP titled The Turning Point in May 20. Here’s a new single from that project. Wordplay for days as always.

Afropolitan Dreams: Blitz The Ambassador- “Love on the Run” ft. Nneka

blitz-love on the run

The release of Blitz The Ambassador’s long-awaited Afropolitan Dreams album is almost upon us, and here we get presumably the last preview from it. This self-produced track features crooner Nneka and a gang of live horns, guitar and bass. The album drops April 28.

Denitia & Sene: “Divided” (Music Video)

It’s dope to see the transition that Sene has made from solo emcee to songwriter in the dynamic duo that is Denitia & Sene. On this latest song and video for Red Bull Sound Select, the two illustrate the story of two souls separated over time. The instrumental produced by twin brother production team Christian Rich provides the approach space to drive the theme home, and the visuals are very dope as well. ALSO, don’t forget to check out the throwback interview where I sat down and spoke with Sene.

Divine ScienZe: “The Come Up” ft. Fresh Daily

ScienZe and producer King i Divine connect with Brooklynite Fresh Daily for this last single before the producer-emcee tandem release their Divine ScienZe 2 project tomorrow. An ode to the grind. Enjoy.

Afropolitan Dreams: Blitz The Ambassador- “Make You No Forget” Ft. Seun Kuti (Video)

Blitz The Ambassador drops of new visuals off of his highly-anticipated Afropolitan Dreams album. For these visuals Blitz returns to his home country of Ghana, because no one is better at remembering where he’s from than Accra, Ghana’s own Blitz The Ambassador. Talented soul singer Amma What also lends her vocals to this single that features the late great Fela Kuti’s son, Seun Kuti. Afropolitan Dreams drops April 28.
